Happy New Year

The year is here. InsyaAllah we're getting married in, if I'm not mistaken, 9 weeks. What a way to kick off the new year.

The process to get married here, I have said this over and over again, is such a hassle. The paperworks are crazy. Since Matt is not a "local" Selangor resident he had to (more like 'want to' instead of 'had to') apply for a PR status in the state. That required my Dearest to hunt down a certain religious figure with the specific post of Nazir Masjid to sign his form. That took about 3 days to do. Once that was settled, had to hunt down another religious figure, now with the post of Penolong Pendaftar Nikah to sign our "permission to marry" form. Haha. Direct translation from Permohonan Kebenaran Bernikah. After that form was signed and stamped with the legal crest, Matt had to go to the district office in Shah Alam for more signatures.

When we finally settled Matt's forms, it was my turn. I had to meet with a Penolong Pendaftar Nikah in Kg. Pandan and then had to submit the forms in Kajang. Now the thing about this forms is that you need to have two witnesses to sign the form before the Imam. Luckily, Matt had my father and brother be his witnesses and my brother and B were mine. Dad is my wali, so he cannot serve as a witness. After submitting the form in Kajang, the next day I received my official letter of permission to marry my Kanda. It was a great, grand feeling. Alhamdulillah that's all done.

Next, and final step concerning the forms will insyaAllah take place on Monday, where we will meet the Imam that will conduct our Akad Nikah ceremony in Ampang. InsyaAllah all will go well.

As for rings and the attire, that's already out of the way. We are absolutely in love with our rings. And the baju that we tailored will insyaAllah look smashing. Next on the to-do list is finalising the invitation cards and selecting the wedding favours. I really cannot wait to start my life as Mrs. Matt Houston.
