Oh, Sweet SNUGG SSC

About a month ago, we bought a soft-structured carrier (SSC) for our son from SNUGGbaby.
It was the best purchase to date.

Having moved to the apartment, our unit and the parking lot is quite a distance.
The area is not stroller-accessible which rendered getting from home to car (or vice versa) quite difficult when we have groceries or other stuff to carry.

Enter the SSC.
It's super convinient, carry Faris in the SSC.
The position of the toddler in the SSC takes away some of the weight due to a superb weight distribution.

Unlike an SSC, a BabyBjorn dangles the baby from the crotch (Google: crotch-danglers) and it's somewhat uncomfortable for the baby, especially if you have a baby boy.
And the weight distribution centers on the carrier's shoulders.
After awhile, you'll feel the burn of the weight.
But not the SSC.
Our 11+kgs son feels lighter in the SSC.

Crowded places, baby-unfriendly areas - the solution is a SNUGG SSC.
And you get to customise it too, so no two person have the same design.

I really don't remember life before our SNUGG SSC.

15 months

Alhamdulillah, our Son is 15 months old.
1 year, 3 months.

He is the first toddler I've encountered who cries because he WANTS to take a bath.
If we're slightly delayed at bathtime, he'll cry while knocking on the bathroom door.

And then there's the issue of taking him out of the tub.
So many distraction strategies just so he won't throw a fit when bathtime is over.

Oh, and one night after washing up, he took his toothbrush to nibble.
And then it disappeared.
We're certain he took it to hide it.
So no more brushing his teeth... until we get a new one.

He dances. He sings.
He can say "Star", "Cat", "Dog".
He climbs like a monkey.

Amd he's such a gentleman.
Alhamdulillah.

Precious, Priceless Moments #009

Alhamdulillah.
Berbuah usaha kami.
Berbaloi ajar/cakap sampai berbuih mulut.

Semalam, nak pulang dari rumah Bayu, Ayahanda kata:
"Faris, salam semua orang please."

Faris jalan ke ibu saudara nya,
hulurkan tangan,
tundukkan kepala ke tangan ibu saudaranya,
dan cium.

Lepas tu, dia pergi ke Nenda pula.
And did the same thing.

Signing Spectacular

A friend introduced us to the idea of Baby Signing.
It's an awesome thing to do with your child.
It develops this wonderful bond and works as an educational platform for your child.

We bought a baby sign book from a local bookstore and taught ourselves the basic signs.
When in doubt at the sign description, websites like this and this helped alot.

We started teaching baby sign to our son slightly later than most.
At 13 months.
We started slow as to not overwhelm our son with information.
We thought him the basics.
"Mom", "Dad", "Hungry", "Play", "Milk".
Then we started introducing Animal signs accompanied by flash cards, pictures of the animal.
"Cat", "Bird", "Bear", "Monkey", "Lion".

Alhamdulillah, with consistency and patience, a month and a half after introducing baby sign to our son, he can now tell us he wants "Milk" or that he's "Hungry".

And most recently, he saw a picture of a Bear and signed "Bear".

Happy days!

Parents can take courses/classes for Baby Signs.
You can also learn from books and signing sites, like myself.

It's simply spectacular that before your child can speak, you can already communicate with him or her.
Or even carry a simple conversation.

You'll be amazed at the rate his/her brain absorbs his/her surroundings and what they have to tell you after certain experiences.

Personal "Jungle Junction"

Our Knight doesn't have that many toys.
Only a fraction when compared to the niece's.

And he likes Playhouse Disney's Jungle Junction.

So, when we found a Playskool Wheel Pals toy that resembled the Jungle Junction world and characters, we didn't hesitate to buy the toys for him.

We started collecting one set at a time. And now it's complete:
(Although we didn't manage to get a set of 4 Farm Animals Wheel Pals... yet)

It's fun.
For Our Knight.
And his parents.

*sorok the toy so that parents can play*
