So a good friend of ours, F is getting married tomorrow. Congratulations, dear. Hope all will be wonderful.
Matt and I are cracking our heads (in a good way) to finalise all the paperwork and other wedding-related stuff.
The stuff that comes hand-in-hand with wedding preparations is... wait for it... THE DRAMA! I am surprised at how an itty-bitty detail can start a wildfire of misunderstandings, miscommunication and other misses. Matt and I are so glad we have each other. After all that is said and done, this is OUR wedding.
Got me thinking about the past when we were finalising the guest list. The list of people that have filled/touched/made brief contact with you and your life. So who to invite? Who not to invite? Won't we offend them? Do we care if we offend them?
I suppose the people of the past is important only to certain extent. Because what matters now is that yellow-bricked road that will lead you to eternity as husband and wife. I'm not saying we should disregard them or even discard the memory of them. I'm just saying that to dwell on the past, and sometimes wondering about those people, is unnecessary. I'm happy now. We're happy now. More than we ever imagined possible.
But what about the people who are still in contact with those from your past? Your old flame or fling? Will it be uncomfortable for them? Is it selfish of us to ignore that there is a possibility that we will stir some discomfort or to question their "loyalty"?
Drama, drama, drama...
