Us against the world

The term "Us against the world" has never been so real to me, until now. As evident in the daily lives of almost everyone, gossip/slander is very much adamant and alive. But the thing is, if the gossip/slandering is targeted at us, are we JUST innocent puppies that people HAPPEN to talk about? We must've done something wrong or at least wrong in their eyes. So I suppose we're never completely victims or innocent.

Considering our past, Matt and I have never been stronger. But others tend to see us as some sort of a bad couple who decidedly "dumped" our then-partners to be with each other. The classic "She-stole-him-from-me" or "He-stole-her-from-me" drill rings true in our case, at least that's what people say. No matter. I take comfort in knowing that Allah s.w.t is the All-knowing and that Matt and I (as well as our loved ones) know the whole story... at least our side. Truth, in my opinion other than the truth of Allah s.w.t and Islam, is subjective. One person can claim one thing is true and the other claim another thing true. So, how?

Again, I take comfort that Allah s.w.t is All-knowing, Most Merciful and Compassionate and that everything, good or bad, ada hikmahnya. And I take comfort in the fact that, insyaAllah, come March, I'm marrying my soulmate.
